I do believe in minimalism, but if you came to my house, you would know that I am lying.
I am definitely a purger. Or, maybe I just throw away important stuff so that I can justify keeping all my life’s nonessentials.
When I read the question, I immediately thought that, not only do I believe in minimalism, I am a minimalist. Then I had a second thought about my shoes, my purses, my antique tea kettles, and my lipsticks – dear God, my lipsticks!
How can people wear the same pair of shoes more than once a week? How can you not switch up your purses to match the occasion? And for the love of all things holy, how can you possibly wear the same lipstick daily?! That is an abomination.
Now that I really ponder, I am a minimalist when it comes to my husband’s possessions, but not so much when it comes to mine. I have been known to covertly throw away his things, but he did catch me on the doorbell camera once, when I got cocky and sloppy. I will never make that mistake again. Why would any man need 17 tape measures? Boggles the mind, don’t it?
I suppose that I can conclude that I am a maximalist when it comes to important things and a minimalist when it comes to his things!
More room for my tea kettles!
